The Nonprofit Support Center provides professional, low-cost training for nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers. Our workshops, roundtable discussions and forums with funders cover four general areas to help nonprofits do their good work better:
- Fund Development
- Board Effectiveness
- Leadership
- Management and Planning
Events are held throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties and are open to anyone who would like to attend. NSC members receive significant discounts on fees and are eligible for scholarships. (link “scholarships” to scholarships page) Space is often limited, so please register early.
See our Calendar of Events for current offerings, fees and availability.
NSC workshops are issue-focused full or half-day classes taught by experts in their field. Courses give attendees the tools to solve their management and governance problems, and provide timely information on issues affecting nonprofit operation.
NSC Roundtables are an opportunity for peer-learning and networking for those who work and volunteer in the nonprofit community. New participants are always welcome and encouraged to join in these informal, supportive and confidential discussions.
These affinity groups of nonprofits working on similar issues are an opportunity to share ideas, network and identify needs in the community. Groups are professionally facilitated and topics are driven by participants. This program is free to NSC members.
NSC forums are an opportunity for nonprofits to hear from funding organizations about their priorities and how to apply for support. These forums allow for rare face-to-face time with foundation representatives and networking opportunities with others in the nonprofit community.
NSC offers comprehensive workshop series on various topics in nonprofit management. Programs provide staff and volunteers with a broad base of knowledge and skills to prepare them for successful work in the nonprofit sector.
We are committed to holding all activities in a barrier-free manner. For special accommodations to attend our workshops, please call 805.681.1040 x10. We will make every effort to accommodate you.
